FLY

Fly into Honolulu (HNL) Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Flights are now available for October 2020.

FLYING FROM SYDNEY?

Qantas, Jetstar and Hawaiian fly direct from Sydney to Honolulu. Anything between AU$700-1100 return is typical. Given it’s the October long weekend and school holidays, we recommend booking early.

We’re lucky to have a personal travel agent, Jenny Brushe, and she can arrange your full trip including flights, transfers, tours and hotels. If you are interested, email jenny@itravelwahroonga.com

FLYING FROM NEW YORK?

Hawaiian and United both fly direct from New York to Honolulu daily. Anything between US$600-850 return is typical.

STAY

Queen Kapiʻolani Hotel WaikIKI Beach

The Queen Kapi’olani Hotel is our home base for the weekend and transportation hub for the day of the wedding. This thoughtfully revamped, eco-conscious hotel has breathtaking volcano views, a great pool and a stunning restaurant/bar, Deck. We fell in love with its authentic Hawaiian charm and we hope you will too.

We’ve negotiated a special rate for all our guests with a complimentary daily amenity fee. To access this exclusive rate, use booking code EJWEDS or book via the link below. A deposit of 1-night accommodation (plus tax) is required to secure the room (not the full stay amount) and changes are flexible up to 60 days prior.

ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS

Condos: Waikiki has several condominium vacation rental options that are great for families. Condos are individually-owned apartments, usually with 1-3 bedrooms, that are available to rent nightly. Here’s a curated list of condos that are within blocks of Queen Kapi’olani:

Hotels: If the Queen Kapi’olani isn’t the hotel for you, there are many options nearby. When considering an alternative, be wary of amenity fees (US$30-50 daily) that are additional to nightly advertised rates and typically charged upon check-in.

Houses: The short-term rental law on Oahu means there are only a very limited number of legal rental houses and most properties are 30-days minimum stay. We don’t recommend this option but if you do explore it, please take care to understand the property’s status before booking to avoid disappointment.

If you’re not a U.S. citizen, it’s likely you will need a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). Your ESTA will be valid for two years and you should apply for ESTA no later than 72 hours before departing for the United States.

SIX MONTH VALIDITY PASSPORT RULE

The U.S. requires you to have at least six months valid on your passport. For this trip, if your passport expires before April 2021, you should renew it before you travel.

OAHU

You’ll have Waikiki covered during our celebrations but there’s more to see. Oahu is best for shoppers, foodies, city lovers, and those who like a mix of action and relaxation. Snorkel with turtles at Hanauma Bay, surf pipeline on the North Shore and hike Diamond Head.

MAUI

Expect a little of everything: golden beaches, tumbling waterfalls, laid-back nightlife, championship-caliber golf courses, and plenty of outdoor adventure, from hiking and biking to snorkeling and surfing. Check out the Road to Hana, one of the most impressive drives in the world.

THE BIG ISLAND

Come for the stunning natural diversity. You’ll see black, white and green sand beaches, jungle valleys and waterfalls, stark black lava fields and even a little snow. Go stargazing from Maunakea, snorkel at night with manta rays and relax along the Kohala Coast.

KAUAI

Nature lovers, beach bums, hikers, bird watchers, and travelers who want to escape tourist crowds without getting too far from civilization will love Kauai. Beyond the low-key beach towns, it’s a dense tangle of rugged cliffs, primeval jungle, and rain-drenched mountain peaks.

LANAI

If you’re looking for luxury and a fraction of the people, the Four Seasons Resort Lanai offers oceanfront opulence and seclusion, complete with a spa, 18-hole golf course, limo service, and a Nobu restaurant. It’s almost the only accommodation on the small rugged island off Maui.

MOLOKAI

With mostly Hawaiian locals who still embrace a simple, laid-back lifestyle, Molokai is for those seeking off-the-beaten-path experiences and people who want to get away from it all. There are long stretches of white sandy beaches, stunning waterfalls and remote jungle.
